Conflict Of Interest - Us V/S Taliban - Taliban Took Control Of Afghanistan
Taliban took control of Afghanistan in a short period of time. Afghan national army failed to withstand the aggression of Taliban forces. The most surprising aspect is the quick subjugation of the Afghan army to the Taliban, which comprised only 75,000 soldiers while the Afghan army comprised 3,50,000 well-trained soldiers. Taliban overtook a major part of Afghanistan without any war. Afghan soldiers fail to create any obstacle against the jubilant Taliban militia. Most of the Western experts stated that within 3 months Taliban would take control of Afghanistan. Contrary to the above prediction, the Taliban took only 10 days to overpower the so-called well trained Afghani forces. US air force launched a couple of airstrikes on progressing Taliban force, but prove to be not enough to block the rapid progress of Talibani militia.
Conflict Of Interest - Us V/S Taliban
The sudden blitzkrieg of Taliban militia dealt a telling blow to the country's economy. Import and export, which is a jugular vein of any country's economy are completely disrupted. Price of essential commodities almost touched the cliff. The life of normal Afghanis is jeopardized. The American allied forces have yet to evacuate their embassy members completely. The Kabul airport remains under the control of the Talibani force. Cores of Afghans national jostled together inside the Kabul airport to leave the country. This is the direct outcome of mayhem that reigned in the mind of Afghanis about Talibani rules. For the last two decades (2001-2021) Afghans enjoyed the freedom of democracy and joy under the former government. The Afghan citizens enjoyed unbridled freedom, as there was no conflict of interest between the democratically elected Afghan government and US administration. There is a conflict of interest between the Taliban group and the US regime on plenty of issues. The US armed forces took control over the Afghanistan post 9/11 incident during 2001, within a month of the beginning of the onslaught. Despite the scintillating onslaught, US armed forces failed to erase the Taliban forces from Afghanistan. During the period between 2001-2020, the Taliban remained in the outskirts of Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, couple of other cities, evading the onslaught of American airstrikes and waiting for the appropriate moment to reinstate to the power of Afghanistan. The Afghan government led by Ashraf Ghani did not have a presence in every nook and corner of the country. This is a clash of interest between women of Afghanistan and Taliban militia.
Afghans who worked for former government American and NATO forces now come under direct threat of the Talibani regime. Taliban believe in medieval Islamic rules, which does not allow the womenfolk to move freely outside their home without being accompanied by male members of the family. During Talibani rule 1.0, women are barred from attending schools, colleges, universities and pursuing any kind of professional career. All the modern entertainments like playing a game, listening to music, watching movies, visiting beauty parlours were barred. The current regime of the Taliban does not believe in women emancipation and modern society. On the contrary, they believe in Islamic rule. Taliban will try to incarcerate women inside the four walls of the abode. For them, women are part of the property and should cover themselves under the burqua (head to toe bonnet). Taliban will weigh havoc on women who disobeyed the above-mentioned rule.
The supremo of the Taliban regime has promised that the new regime will stay away from any kind of atrocious policies, women and minorities right will be reinstalled, revenge killing will be thing of the past. US military officials also threatened that the Taliban would have to face consequences if they will be trying to intervene with the evacuation drive, conducted by the US air force. Taliban should provide safe passage to all those wanted to leave the country. The former president of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani already fled to UAE. The former vice president Amrullah Saleh went to Panjsher and declared himself as the president of Afghanistan. He has joined Ahmad Masud, the supreme commander of Northern Alliance, the traditional foe of the Taliban. Ahmad Masud is the son of Ahmad Shah Masud, famously known as Lion of Panjsher, who was killed by an ISIS suicide attack in 1999. The conflict of interest between the Northern Alliance and Taliban exist from the word go (1990). Northern Alliance has declared war on the Taliban. Rashid Dostum, Saleh Ragisthani both are famous Afghan warlords also joined hand with Ahmad Masud. The trio will wage war against the Taliban militia. On 19th August 2021, 10,000 Afghan soldiers also joined the Northern Alliance This has bolstered the already formidable Northern Alliance. Afghanistan is now heading towards an internecine civil war. There was news doing the round is that a couple of Afghan fighter pilots reached neighbouring country Uzbekistan with the US fighter aircraft. Uzbek border security force detained a couple of Afghan army personnel, who reached Uzbekistan.
Most of the countries already evacuated their embassies. Only Pakistan, China, Russia remain exceptional as this countries do not have any conflict of interest with Taliban. It seems that China and Russia do not have any conflict of interest with militia. Russian government stated that Taliban officials assured them about the safety and security of the Russian consulate. A couple of days back a group of Taliban representatives met with the Chinese foreign minister and get assurance of all diplomatic, logistic support from the Chinese regime. The Pakistani foreign minister Shah Mahmud Quereshi postponed the scheduled visit to Afghanistan. The new government is yet to be installed in Afghanistan. Taliban would be going to face a severe fund crunch as the central government of Afghanistan, Da Afghanistan Bank does not have any direct control over the asset. The US government and IMF have direct control over the assets and the Taliban government will not have any access to those funds to meet all the expenditures of the government.
Conflict
Of Interest - Taliban And Modern Life
Afghan people are scared about the brutal rule of the Taliban. Most of the people working for the USA, NATO army, the previous government and various espionage activities want to leave the country. The picture of people hanging from a US military plane spread rapidly to every nook and corner of the world and strike a powerful chord in the mind of people. The most ghastly scene was the multiple numbers of people dropped from the flying plane. Taliban detained and killed many former police and army personnel. One of the leaders of the Taliban stated that they would not pursue any revenge killing, but common Afghan people do think otherwise. Many foreign observers stated that those Afghans who failed to board the flight were broken down into tears as if the end is near to them. Kabul airport which is jostled with people of Afghan and foreign origin are guarded by 3500 US armed and marine forces and armed drones flying over the head to stop any terrorist activities.
Why Afghan Army Melted Away in Front of Taliban
The Taliban took control of Afghanistan within 10 days after the departure of the US army. The sudden meltdown of the so-called well trained and heavily equipped Afghan army raised a couple of questions. It seems that there was no conflict of interest between the Afghan force and the Taliban militia. The US president Joe Bidden already stated that America will not fight the war on behalf of another country. Afghan army should be entirely blamed for the recent turmoil. The perception that runs into the mind of common people that Afghan soldiers have a numerical advantage over the Taliban is not entirely true. The Taliban comprised 75,000 foot-soldiers and most of them are half bake trained without proper uniform and equipment. According to US government officials, the number of Afghan soldiers shown by the former Afghan government (3,52,800) is an inflated one, while the actual number is quite low. The actual number of Afghan police and army was 2,54000 and the rest were ghost soldiers and their payment was creeping into the account of various government officials and ministers. Most of the soldiers remained unpaid for the last couple of months. Food supplies to most of the army barracks were inconsistent. Most of the soldiers lack proper arms and ammunition.
The crucial reason behind the debacle of Afghan forces is the lack of air support. The NATO and US forces failed to provide any air support during the tough time of excruciating war. The US government already signed an accord with the Taliban's supremo in Doha, as there is no search conflict of interest between the Taliban and the US regime, which disheartened the Afghan government and forces. The hasty decision by US president Joe Bidden to withdraw the US armed forces before the end of 31st August 2021, placed both the Afghan army and armed forces on soggy ground. The corrupt siphoned off the money meant for the Afghan army. Most of the Afghan army belongs to the Tajik tribe. During the critical time, they showed their allegiance to their tribe, not to the Afghan nation. The ideology of Afghan nationalism was not instilled into the mind and heart of the Afghan army. Thus Taliban whisked away from the Afghan army and controlled Afghanistan within 10 days of withdrawal of US armed forces.
Conflict
Of Interest - Taliban &Neighbouring Countries
Taliban ascend to the throne of Afghanistan after spending two decades in the wilderness. The ascendant Talibani forces placed neighbouring countries on the cusp of anxiety. There is a conflict of interest between the Taliban and neighbouring countries. Taliban is like a crater, which can not be reined in. Taliban's sudden rise to power will impact the politics of Central Asia. Neighbouring countries are anxious about rising incidents of terrorism, sudden influx and instability in internal politics. Pakistan shares a huge border with Afghanistan and the racial structure of both countries are similar. During Taliban 2.0 rule, the Pakistan regime had major influence over Afghanistan and used the latter's territories for training for Kashmiri militants, which was denied by the Pakistani regime. India is a major power in this region besides Russia and China enjoyed friendly relations with the former government of Afghanistan. India does not enjoy the same relation with the Taliban, as the latter has an overtly pro-Pakistani stand. India invested a huge amount of money to develop the infrastructure of war-torn Afghanistan. It is interesting to see whether the two regimes will come closer to rewrite the new history of cooperation and collaboration.
China is a major power of the region and shares a very lukewarm relation with the previous Afghan regime, unlike its arch-rival India. India and China have conflict of interest over Afghanistan. China has yet to close its embassy and asked its embassy officials not to venture out of the embassy. China is looking for a previous ore mine in Afghanistan and decimates the Uighur terrorist camps mushrooming on the Pak-Afghan border. Like China, Russia did not evacuate its embassy from Afghanistan. Russia does not want the spillover of the Islamic movement in Central Asia. Russian regime assumed that healthy relations with the Taliban will put the lid on the Islamic movement to spread to another part of Asia.
Conflict of Interest Between Northern Alliance & Taliban
Donald Trump initiated the withdrawal of US troops in the middle of 2020. The newly elected president of America Joe Bidden hastened the process of withdrawal and completed the process on 31st August 2021. The sudden withdrawal of US forces let the Taliban sprang into action and trampled the whole of Afghanistan within 10 days. There was nobody or no group to withstand the Taliban tormentors to place the whole of Afghanistan into terror thrall. The Northern Alliance suddenly appeared into the unduly mountainous region of Panhjsher and gave a clarion call to the rest of the marginalised tribe i.e. Uzbek, Hazara, which have conflict of interest with Taliban, to come together and give a major blow to the daunting Taliban militia. The United Islamic National Front for the Salvation of Afghanistan, famously known as the Northern Alliance, is the alliance of non-Pashtun tribes which comprised Tajik, Uzbek, Hazara formed in 1996. The supreme commander of the group was Ahmad Shah Masud famously known as Lion of Panjsheer (Panjsheer means land of five lions). He was killed in a suicidal blast by Alquida terrorists, just three days ahead (9th September 2011) of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the US. Ahmad Masud is the eldest son of Ahmad Shah Masud is now leading the Northern Alliance against Talibani marauders. The Taliban failed to occupy the Northern Alliance dominated Panjsheer province. Talibani forces advanced towards Panjsheer, after both the parties failed to reach an accord. In the ongoing clash between the Taliban and Northern Alliance, 850 Talibani foot soldiers died. On 18th August 2021, 10,000 Afghan soldiers joined Northern Alliance for their fight against the Taliban. Amrullah Saleh has great influence over Afghan armed forces, stated that Talibani forces encircled Panjsheer from all three sides and blocked the main entry point of Panjsheer. The most startling fact is the Hashmat Ghani, the brother of former president Ashmat Ghani had joined the Taliban group on 20th August 2021. It remains to be seen whether this incident has any impact on Afghan politics or not. Talibani supremo approached Russia to etch a peace deal with the beleaguered Northern Alliance. Tajikistan already started to provide logistic support to the Northern Alliance. The fight broke out between Talibani forces and Northern Alliance in Andrab, which is 200 km away from Kabul. Failure to control Andrab will spell doom for the Talibani regime in Kabul.
Ahmad Masud has challenged the Taliban to capture Panjsheer within 4 years, as he would not surrender to the Taliban regime due to conflict of interest. The ensuing casualties already disheartened the Taliban force. Taliban regime sends another 6,000 militia to conquer the valley. Taliban had given an ultimatum to America to complete the evacuation within 31st August 2021. Failure to obey the timeline will have disastrous consequences. Ahmad Masud wrote a letter to the French president for much-needed help during the wee hours. Several Afghans most of them are juveniles started to drove towards Panjsheer to join Northern Alliance to wage a war against Taliban forces.
